The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce is working with The Michigan Chamber to help you and your team get ready for a necessary I-9 Form compliance change by November 1st.

Join us Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 1 to 2 p.m., for a webinar with our partners at the Miller Canfield law firm as we discuss the newly released I-9 form and how it will affect all Michigan employers.

The new I-9 form, used to verify the identity and citizenship or employment authorization of hires, includes significant changes to the form and instructions, including:

A reduction of Sections 1 and 2 to a one-page creation of Supplements A and B for preparers/translators and reverifications/rehires.
A checkbox for employers enrolled in E-Verify to indicate they remotely examined identity and employment authorization documents under a newly authorized alternative procedure.
