Mid Michigan College has received a $2,125,000 gift from the Morey Foundation to support the College’s Rooted in Community, Growing for Tomorrow campaign. The gift includes $2 million to name the new Morey Event Center at Mid Michigan College’s Mt. Pleasant Campus and $125,000 to match employee contributions.
Construction on the event center began this fall, marking a major step forward for the College. When complete, the facility will serve as a home for Laker Athletics, host college and community events, and allow for commencement to take place on campus.
“The Morey Foundation’s support will create a vibrant hub for students, community members, and regional partners,” said Alexa Carey, Executive Director of the Mid Michigan College Foundation. “It strengthens both our campus and the community we serve.”
The event center is part of broader improvements within the Rooted in Community, Growing for Tomorrow campaign, which focuses on modernizing student spaces and investments in skilled trades and health sciences.
The Morey Foundation’s contribution demonstrates its commitment to the future of the College and to fostering a culture of philanthropy among the College’s faculty and staff.
“We are honored to support Mid Michigan College during this pivotal moment,” said Erik Spindler, Executive Director, Morey Foundation. “This campaign ensures students and the regional workforce have the resources they need to succeed.”
