New President & CEO Named to Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce

The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is excited to announce the selection of Padraic McMeel as the Chamber’s new president and chief executive officer. As President and CEO, McMeel will lead the Chamber’s members, staff, and volunteers in supporting local business in the Mt. Pleasant area. The Board and hiring committee sought a candidate who shares enthusiasm for and will build on the great things happening in Mt. Pleasant and feel Padraic brings that energy and expertise. “The mission and objectives to serve and support local businesses while helping to increase, promote, and strengthen their day-to-day operations and goals truly aligns with my purpose of serving and positively impacting those that I work with on a daily basis,” said McMeel.

Padraic returns to Mt. Pleasant after a career in collegiate athletics management. As a MPHS and CMU graduate, McMeel and his wife Ashley, wanted to set roots for their children close to family; returning to Mt. Pleasant, a community they know and love, made sense for them. The Chamber strives to strengthen and support our business community to foster economic vitality, but the ultimate goal is to sustain Mt. Pleasant as excellent community to live, work, and do business. McMeel brings the attitude and background to support these efforts. His previous work as a board member with several chambers of commerce throughout his career positions him to see the untapped resources in our own community. His extensive experience collaborating with visitor and economic development partners will strengthen the Chamber. “From my professional experiences as well as volunteering with so many organizations, I cannot think of a better opportunity to re-engage in the Mt. Pleasant community than to serve as the next President/CEO (of the Chamber). The ability to pay it forward while enhancing and strengthening the businesses in the Mt. Pleasant area is a full-circle opportunity for me,” said McMeel.
