Integration Nearing Completion with Branding Changes

With the integration nearing completion of MyMichigan’s newest locations in Saginaw, Standish, and Tawas, the hospitals and related practices in these communities will begin a full transformation to the MyMichigan Health brand. This includes displaying the “Block M” of the University of Michigan. This significant milestone comes just seven months after these facilities joined the Midland-based health system. Transition to the full brand is set to occur in the next six to eight weeks.

“We are honored and proud to be affiliated with Michigan Medicine. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality care as close to home as possible in all of our communities,” said Lydia Watson, M.D., president and CEO, MyMichigan Health. “This reflects the already outstanding quality of these locations and the hard work of our teams. The integration teams have worked tirelessly to integrate our systems, technologies, and processes. Their passion for excellence wasn’t just to ensure our new relationship succeeds, but more importantly to ensure our patients receive the high-quality care they expect.”

Since joining MyMichigan Health, several enhancements have occurred at MyMichigan Medical Centers Saginaw, Standish, Tawas and Towne Centre, as well as related sites of care and related physician practices. The biggest was the implementation of Epic, the world’s largest provider of electronic medical record systems, which began Feb. 1. The project included the update of equipment, improved information sharing and integration of MyMichigan’s policies, processes and procedures into the newly acquired facilities with the rest of the health system. It also now enables each patient to have one comprehensive medical record shared across all MyMichigan Health practices and facilities for more seamless and convenient care.

“MyMichigan Health has been warmly welcomed in our new communities of Saginaw, Standish and Tawas. It is truly an honor for us to contribute to these safe and thriving communities,” said Dr. Watson. “The extraordinary advancements in care that these Medical Centers have been a part of for many years all illustrate the commitment to excellence that the employees, health care providers, and volunteers bring to our patients. We look forward to continuing to create healthy communities together – now with our full brand extended in all of our locations.”

MyMichigan Health entered into an affiliation agreement with Michigan Medicine in 2013, reflecting a shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality care close to home for patients who live in the communities served by MyMichigan Health.

“MyMichigan Health has a strong history of integrating their commitment to quality, safety and ensuring local access to care across all of their hospitals and health centers as their health system has grown,” says David Miller, M.D. University of Michigan Health president.  “We look forward to continuing to collaborate to best serve our communities together.”
