Gratiot Family Practice Joining MyMichigan Health

ALMA, Mich. – Gratiot Family Practice and the accompanying X-ray services located at 1910 Pine Avenue in Alma, Michigan will be joining MyMichigan Health on October 28, 2024. The practice will be renamed MyMichigan Family Medicine and will become a provider-based facility of MyMichigan Medical Center Alma.

The family medicine team of Abayomi Abimbola, M.D., Christopher Murray, D.O., Angela Jensen, F.N.P.-B.C., Troy Novak, P.A.-C and Nikki Preston, F.N.P.-B.C., in addition to their supporting staff will be joining MyMichigan and will continue caring for patients at their present location.

“We’re excited to welcome these team members to the MyMichigan family, and we are working to make this transition as seamless as possible for them and for patients,” said Amy Fraker, director, MyMichigan Medical Group. “For example, we will be keeping the current office phone number during the transition.”

On-site X-ray will also be available by appointment to anyone with a signed physician order. Patients do not need to be members of the practice to use this location for X-ray.

MyMichigan purchased the building from Covenant HealthCare on June 28 and has begun the process to integrate the facility into its operations, including installing MyMichigan’s electronic medical record, which is powered by Epic. Practice management and day-to-day operations will be overseen by MyMichigan Medical Group, a multi-specialty, multi-location practice and wholly owned subsidiary of MyMichigan Health.

“This relationship fits our philosophy of keeping care as close to home as possible for patients and their families,” said Marita Hattem-Schiffman, president of MyMichigan Medical Centers in Alma, Clare and Mt. Pleasant. “Patients and providers at this location will now have one medical record for primary care plus nearby emergency care, hospital and outpatient services. This will enhance communication and continuity of care and will enable seamless access to specialized services at other MyMichigan facilities or the University of Michigan when needed.”

Those who would like to learn more about the practice or inquire about becoming a patient may call (989) 463-3101.
