MPPD Accepts Invitation from Schools to Celebrate National Reading Month

As part of National Reading Month, Mt. Pleasant Assistant Police Chief Bliss and Officers Theisen, Leonard, Coffman and Nau, accepted the invitation to read with Mt. Pleasant Public School students.

In addition to reading in a fifth-grade class, Assistant Police Chief Bliss answered questions students had regarding policing and law enforcement.

In another classroom, Officer Leonard read a few scenarios and had the students take notes and use their comprehension, analytic and ‘detective’ skills to solve a mystery.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department thanks the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools for the invitation.

The Citizens’ Academy is designed to engage members of the community while expanding their knowledge of the structure and functions of local government.
