Laser Operator
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Laser Operator to set up, program, and operate a Bystronic plate laser system with automation. This role is responsible for producing high-quality parts, maintaining efficient production flow, and ensuring accuracy to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load appropriate materials into the Bystronic plate laser with automation and unload processed parts
- Safely operate a forklift (primarily) and overhead crane (as needed) to handle materials
- Operate, program, and troubleshoot machine parameters using BySoft software to ensure part quality and accuracy
- Control machine movement and cycle speeds through BySoft software
- Interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine cutting specifications
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and efficiently set up multiple jobs per day
- Accurately measure materials and stack finished parts on pallets
- Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including material racks and work center
- Utilize power tools and hand tools as required
- Assist with other machines and departments as needed (press brake, metal plate roll, metal shear, etc.)
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of laser operator experience
- 1+ year of forklift experience; overhead crane experience a plus
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools with a high level of accuracy
- Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
