In addition, our guest speaker, Ken Horn, Executive Vice President of Strategic Development for the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, will present on Operation 40k. This initiative aims to increase the population across the Great Lakes Bay Region by 40,000 people by 2040.
Ken Horn is a first-generation American, living in Frankenmuth for over 40 years, where he met his wife, Veronica. They have two children, Kevin and Andrea, and grandchildren, Liam and Aaliyah.
Ken holds a degree from Concordia University - Ann Arbor and is nearing completion of a master’s in public administration at Saginaw Valley State University. Ken received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree from SVSU and is a published author.
In his 30-year career in public service, Ken chaired the Michigan Senate Economic and Small Business Development Committee. He authored such legislation as the Brownfield Transformational Act, Going Pro Talent Fund, and ReConnect.
In May 2023, Ken took a position with the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, where they paired his statewide initiative of Project One Million People with the new Alliance population growth strategy. Operation 40k was created; the new plan to grow our region by forty-thousand people.
