Pankaj Jandwani, M.D., M.M.M., C.H.C.H.I.O., has been named the new vice president and chief information officer for MyMichigan Health. Dr. Jandwani will begin in his new role upon the retirement of Dan Waltz at the end of June 2025. Waltz served in this role since January 2014 and has guided the MyMichigan IT teams through many Epic go-lives at new member locations and technological changes since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Previously, Dr. Jandwani served as the health systems’ regional vice president of medical affairs and chief innovation officer, as well as chief medical informatics officer where he helped lead MyMichigan’s Epic electronic medical record implementation and virtual care expansion. He is board-certified in internal medicine, clinical informatics and health care quality and holds a master’s degree in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University. Widely recognized for his impact, Dr. Jandwani was named among Becker’s Healthcare “30 Great Chief Innovation Officers to Know” and serves as faculty and mentor for the health system and broader community.
In his current role, Dr. Jandwani provides strategic oversight of medical staff services, academic affairs and provider leadership development across the health system. He has led numerous transformative initiatives, including the system-wide integration of medical staff services, modernization of credentialing operations and the launch of innovative programs, including Tele-ICU and Hospital at Home. His leadership has been instrumental in enhancing provider well-being, earning national recognition from the AMA’s Joy in Medicine initiative.
“Dr. Jandwani is a seasoned health care executive and physician leader with more than two decades of progressive leadership experience in clinical, academic and operational domains,” said Bryan Cross, Pharm.D., FACHE, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “His leadership is driven by a commitment to innovation, collaboration and elevating the standard of care across all settings. MyMichigan Health is fortunate to have him embracing this role.”
Dr. Jandwani is married to another MyMichigan physician leader, Madhura Mansabdar, M.D., and they have two children.
