Hey Young Professionals come check out our next event “Branding IT”! Misty Bennett will present a Defining You! Workshop to help develop your personal brand and setting your personal goals to get there. Participants in the Defining You! Workshop will embark on a personal journey to discover what their underlying beliefs, attitudes, and values are, and will use these to create their own personal vision statement. They will then get to connect this vision statement with their business and learn about how their own values, beliefs, and the way they present themselves to others represents their business. Participants will also get to learn how to set SMART goals and will be able to create specific SMART goals designed to help them achieve their personal vision with the help of the workshop facilitator. Finally, we will conclude with an exercise designed to give participants confidence and set them on the path to achieve their vision!When: May 14, 2013

Developing your Personal Brand and Setting Goals to get you There
At this workshop, we will:
· Introduce/discuss the importance of branding (with an ice breaker exercise)
· Understand your beliefs, attitudes, and values (exercise)
· Design your own personal vision statement (individual exercise)
· Align your vision to your business, understanding strategic alignment
· Learn about goal setting (exercise on how to set a SMART goal)
· Set personal goals to achieve your vision (individual exercise)
· Conclude with brief stress relaxation/vision invigorating exercise
Misty M. Bennett, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Management in the College of Business Administration at Central Michigan University and a Management Consultant who has consulted for a variety of organizations in both the public and private sector. Misty’s research and consulting areas include training and motivation, selection and staffing planning, and occupational stress and leadership. While at CMU, she has developed a Human Resources concentration for the online MBA program. She has delivered a number of workshops and led executive retreats around such topics as leadership, dealing with organizational change, and managing occupational stress and balancing work-family demands.
