Member Event: Cocoa, Cookies and Crime
Step into the shadows for an evening of true crime with acclaimed author and historian Tobin T. Buhk at Mid Michigan College’s Mt. Pleasant Campus. Inspired by his book Cold Case Michigan, this chilling presentation explores some of the state’s most haunting unsolved mysteries—brutal murders, eerie discoveries, and cases that continue to trouble investigators and communities alike.
From a family bludgeoned to death in Dowagiac to a trunk of skulls discovered in a Ferndale attic, participants will examine the evidence, consider the forensics, and weigh the suspects behind Michigan’s most perplexing cold cases. Along the way, enjoy warm cocoa and cookies as the stories unfold.
Tobin T. Buhk is a freelance author specializing in historic true crime. His extensive research—including time spent volunteering in a county morgue—has informed numerous books such as Cause of Death, Skeletons in the Closet, and Poisoning the Pecks of Grand Rapids.
