Free Virtual Cancer Prevention Program Coming Nov. 11
While there is no magic pill for cancer prevention, everyday choices can help lower the risk. To educate the community on healthy choices to make, MyMichigan Health will host “Small Steps, Big Impact: Preventing Cancer with Healthy Choices,” on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from noon to 1 p.m. The free, virtual program will help attendees set small goals and know that each healthy habit can make a meaningful difference in preventing cancer and having a healthier, stronger body.
The program will be led by by Internal Medicine Physician Madhura Mansabdar, M.D., Registered Nurse Jennifer Felten, R.N., B.S.N., Oncology Dietitian Kelly Davis, R.D.N., C.S.O., and Oncologic Physical Therapist Jennifer Root, P.T., D.P.T., C.L.T.-L.A.N.A. Presentation topics will include risk factors that impact cancer, information on MyMichigan’s Lifestyle Medicine program, how to create balanced meals, portion control and easy ways to increase daily activity. There will be a question and answer time following the presentations.
