ABOUT MARK FLEGENHEIMER
Mark Flegenheimer is President & CEO of Michigan Sugar Company in Bay City, Michigan.
Mark began his career in New York City, trading sugar and coffee, with Amerop Sugar Corporation. He was Amerop’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President.
In 1994, Mark joined Michigan Sugar Company as Vice President of Administration. In 1996, he was named Chief Operating Officer and promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer in 1998. In 2002, Mark was involved in a grower-led, leveraged buyout, converting Michigan Sugar Company into a grower-owned cooperative. In 2004, he led the merger of Monitor Sugar Company into Michigan Sugar Company, as well as the acquisition of AmCane Sugar in 2016.
Mark graduated from DePauw University. He and his wife, Anne, reside in Saginaw, Michigan, and have two children, Trevor and Katie.
